Mosaic of Memories
Mosaic of Memories
”Mosaic of Memories” by DJ Hejtmanek is an abstract mixed media/oil painting of a pair of cardinals on a 36 x 36” gallery-wrapped canvas.
This painting challenged me. Grief can be a strange thing. I remember a season of grieving when I didn’t realize that was what I was doing. I huddled in a corner beside my bed and felt I was tucked behind the Ark in the Holy of Holies. A sacred space. Something deep poured out of me. Something deeper still covered and filled me. Words aren’t adequate. This painting, in every brush stroke I laid down, evokes that memory for me, and of those I’ve lost but will see again.
HEART NOTE FROM GOD My child, tears are an escape valve for the soul. I weep when you weep, and I rejoice when you rejoice. My heart is wrapped up with yours. Know that I AM the God of all comfort and I grieve with you. Weeping will not endure; joy will come again. Remember the fun and the laughter. Remember the smiles and the hugs. Do not mourn as the world mourns, but remember whose you are and who holds you close. I love you with an everlasting love. Though your heart is breaking, I promise, I AM with you and you are never alone. Let your sweet memories be a balm to your soul as you grieve here with me in the Holy Place. I am not going anywhere. Beloved, take the time you need to replenish in my Presence.
“He always comes alongside us to comfort us in every suffering so that we can come alongside those who are in any painful trial. We can bring them this same comfort that God has poured out upon us. And just as we experience the abundance of Christ’s own sufferings, even more of God’s comfort will cascade upon us through our union with Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:4-5 TPT
