DJ Hejtmanek

A native of Louisiana Cajun country, DJ Hejtmanek (pronounced Hate’-mon-ik) developed a well-seasoned love for words and graphic design through her family’s printing business. During the global pandemic of 2020, her desire exploded into a passion for painting. She began to apply paint to canvas and has pursued all things artistic since, including formal art training through Milan Art Institute. Her unique style combines abstraction and realism in colorful portrayals of creatures great and small, women searching for meaning, and playful nonrepresentational abstracts.

“I’m fascinated with the power of the brush to convey truth, wonder, and delight. The rest of my life will be devoted to exploring the divine dance between brush strokes and words,” DJ said. As an avid faith-based blogger, she continues to inspire spiritual exploration through her integration of visual and written mediums. DJ has produced over 200 paintings in the past two years, honing her mixed media art process and unique voice. “I need to make up for lost time,” she says with a smile. “No time to lose.”

DJ has progressed from painting on her kitchen counter to a home office/studio to currently working in an urban warehouse studio where she can paint on larger canvases. As a former marketer/editor/fundraiser, DJ possesses the drive and passion to carve her unique niche in the professional art world. She is building a successful art business, expanding beyond her home base in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, area.
