The brown pelican is the state bird of Louisiana. This painting is part of a series of three based on Louisiana’s state motto:  “Union. Justice. Confidence.”

HEART NOTE FROM GOD My child, don’t think it strange that justice is your passion. Yes, I delight in mercy, and I am slow to anger, but justice and righteousness are the foundation of my throne. You carry my heart. And as you seek and surrender to me, I will guide you in the best pathways for your life. Justice is your heart’s cry, but allow me to temper that with my mercy. Allow me to balance you so you will show mercy when my desire is for mercy, but you also will pursue justice when it is required. You are mine.
